but the sun does shine in this place sometimes.

escapism. with news of jobs diminishing by the thousands, various publications folding, and hits being taken in every market, its nice to have a form of escape. whether it be following the moves of favorite musicians, planning the next vacation you would take if you could (a winery in valencia, spain), or going to the movies (i'm convinced you could never watch slumdog millionaire enough to tire of it)... to each his own. don't get blue. its always darkest before the dawn they say. art has been on the brain lately as i wait (not very patiently) for a screen print i ordered over a week ago to come in the mail. i'm also going to a loft artspace opening tomorrow. i have high hopes. the general idea is for it to be an open workspace and studio to create a sense of community among artists. it's also going to have a gallery i think so maybe finally i will find a place to display some of my photography. we'll see. this week i've taken "study breaks" at work by looking at what the houses of proenza, burberry, vuitton, and my kindred matthew williamson have cooked up for the pre-fall. a girl can dream. no harm in that. here are some of my favorites...

i couldn't help but be head over four-inch heels for these looks...

proenza recessionista sees no reason to leave the sparkle and cool at home...

matthew williamson makes exactly what i want to wear and dream up in my head. every.single.thing.

mj. wartime-inspired. socks and wedges never looked so good...
